Dear Parents:
Wow, it doesn’t seem possible that we are sending out the last newsletter of the school year!
You are receiving this newsletter just a couple days prior to our Wells School Carnival, which is on Friday, April 27 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. We hope you can come! Again, a huge thanks to our parents and staff members who have volunteered to help out. We could not hold this event without your help. Also, we want to acknowledge the fact that over thirty members of the National Honor Society from United Township High School will be volunteering at this event. We thank them so much for their assistance. Talk about community support!
We recently completed another well-attended kindergarten round-up. It certainly appears as if our school population is continuing to grow! We now have 473 Preschool through Grade 4 students in our building.
Our second, third, and fourth grade boys and girls will soon be taking the MAP test for the final time this school year. We are anxious to see what progress your sons and daughters have made since the beginning of the school year. We will be sending home a copy of their progress report during the month of May.
The majority of our students recently participated in our third quarter Reward Day at Skate City. The boys and girls really seemed to enjoy this event!
As you can tell by looking at the May calendar, this month is full of numerous field trips and activities for your sons and daughters. Also, please note that Teacher Appreciation Week is May 7-11. We thank our PTA for providing a luncheon for all of our staff members on this day. It is a great way to acknowledge our many hard-working, dedicated staff members that work with your children each and every day.
Please note that Field Day will be held on Wednesday, May 30 throughout the day. Feel free to come and join us if you can!
We will obviously be communicating with you as the month progresses, but in the meantime, feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks for your continued support!
Sincerely,
Mr. Jim O’Brien
