Welcome to Wells Elementary School! PDF Print E-mail

Principal's Message

Dear Wells Families:

Welcome back to another great year.  If this is your first time sending your child to Wells I want to introduce myself.  My name is Kristin Humphries and I am the proud principal of Wells Elementary.  When you send your child to Wells it involves a level of trust and we don't take that lightly.  We take great pride in educating your child and getting them to reach their full potential.

As you can see Wells has a new website and it is currently under construction.  My charge will be to create new avenues of communication with our families and this website will help serve that purpose.  I invite you to click around but be aware that this will be changing regularly as we learn all what our new web content can do.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to email, call or stop in.  My door is always open to your concerns as you have entrusted your most important asset, your children, to the staff of Wells Elementary.  We look forward to having a wonderful school year!

Sincerely,

Mr. Humphries
Principal

  We value and strive for:

  • A safe and nurturing environment
  • Equitable learning opportunities for all students
  • A strong, community-wide support network
  • Collaborative, fact-driven decision making
  • High expectations for all stakeholders

MAP Testing

During the period of January 11 - 15, 2010 all 2nd - 4th grade students will take tests called Measures of Academic Progress™ (MAP). We give students MAP tests to determine your child’s instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year in the areas of Reading, Language Arts, Math, and Science. Your child will take the tests on a computer.

We are truly excited to begin a new era that focuses on every child’s individual growth and achievement. Partnering to help all kids learn, parents and teachers can have a profound positive effect on the lives of our children.
